(excerpt from: "Maxine Pinson
Gives The INNside Scoop"--7th & 8th paragraphs)
According to Pinson, her 23-year-old daughter,
Celia, was responsible for getting her involved in writing and publishing
in the first place. Pinson said that Celia had been published in twelve
different national publications by the time she was thirteen. "She has
inspired me and is definitely instrumental in my writing," Pinson said.
In fact, even today, Celia is still a huge motivating factor in Pinson's
work.
Celia was diagnosed with cancer in 1995, and
her only hope of survival is a bone marrow transplant. In order to raise
the $302`000 needed for the transplant, Pinson is accepting donations in
return for a subscription to "The
INNside Scoop." Anyone interested in a one-year subscription to the
newsletter may make a $20 tax-deductible donation. Please make check payable
to "Help Save One of Our Own Foundation" f/b/o Celia Pinson Iskandar and
mail it to Maxine Pinson at 22 W. Bryan St.--202; Savannah, GA 31401.
