FUNDS NEEDED FOR
CANCER VICTIM'S BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT
Georgia Guardian
Savannah, GA
July 10-16, 1998

The 23-year-old wife of 1997 Savannah College of Art and Design student Antoine Iskandar is in need of funds to help pay for a bone marrow transplant. Celia Iskandar has been battling cancer since 1995 and already has a scheduled surgery date for late July, however, she still needs more than $130,000 to pay for the operation at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. For Iskandar's type of transplant, there are no medical insurance or other benefits available to help pay for the operation, which will cost about $302,000.

Iskandar's mother, Maxine Pinson, publishes The INNside Scoop, a quarterly newsletter featuring information on bed and breakfasts in Georgia and the Carolinas. Those who wish to subscribe can make a $20 tax-deductible donation to the newsletter, which will be put into Help Save One Of Our Own, a fund for Iskandar, or donations may be made directly to the fund.

Send checks (along with subscription name and address) to Help Save One Of Our Own c/o Maxine Pinson, 22 W. Bryan St. Savannah, Ga. 31401 or go to the Web site at http://www.the-innside-scoop.com.
