“ A Colonial Estate in the Heart of
From
the moment I turn onto the road leading to the stately home, I know my visit
will not be long enough. On my left I spot handsome horses grazing on a
sloping emerald-colored hill. As I turn my head to the right, I behold a
picturesque Victorian gazebo flanked by a field of golden day lilies and
multi-colored impatiens amidst a boxwood garden. I have not even stepped out
of my car, and already I am entranced. I can hardly wait to see inside.
The circa 1850 plantation-style home, situated upon 20 sprawling acres,
served as a hospital during the Civil War. It was frequented by the Black
Horse Calvary, Confederate troops who waged a successful charge against
Union soldiers at the first battle of nearby Manassas. The entire area is
marinated with history. |
The resident owner and innkeeper of this highly acclaimed inn, Lynn
Pirozzoli, reflects the graciousness and refinement one would expect the
lady of such a home to possess. An accomplished equestrienne, Lynn is also
an outstanding and caring innkeeper. Truly, this is an inn for all seasons--a respite for selective travelers. Strong Points Hospitality plus, Location & setting, Magnificent grounds and views, Historic property, Décor, Gourmet breakfast, Afternoon "Hunt Country Tea," Horse stabling available for equine guests, Special packages and discounts offered, Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces available, Picnic lunches and tailgate baskets available (with advance notice), Elegant wedding and reception facility on premises. |

“In the Heart of Bay St. Louis' M y enthusiasm for experiencing a top-notch B&B never wanes, and I delight in discovering newly o- pened inns that already have the special qualities which make a good B&B an exceptional one. When I visit Palm House B&B, I find a gem.An authentic 19th Century West Indies-styled Planter's Home, Palm House B&B is encircled by ancient live oaks and palm trees. The interior is tastefully decorated and furnished with antiques and period pieces. For guests preferring additional seclusion, in a more casual setting, accommodations are available in a separate cottage—complete with a TV/VCR, microwave, a small refrigerator, and a whirlpool tub for two. Breakfast just doesn't get any better than served at Palm House. Dependent upon the preference of the guests, a mini-feast is served in the casual sun room or in the formal dining room with fine linens, china, and silver. Not only is the presentation impressive, but the food is unsurpassed.

Palm Room Margie and Reg Morken, the congenial owners and resident innkeepers, are naturals at extending quintessential Southern hospitality. Guests feel welcomed and at home from the moment the Morkens greet them until farewells are exchanged. My favorite guest room is the Palm Room with an elegant, queen-size four poster bed. I hope it will be available when I return for my next visit. No doubt about it, I will be back. Strong Points Hospitality plus, Location, Historic property, Early coffee, Gourmet breakfast, Complimentary afternoon refresh-ments, Décor, Attention-to-detail, In-room telephones, Special discounts & packages, Garden area .
