I
suspect the Charlottesville
area of Virginia, proclaimed the “State for Lovers,” is lovely year-round.

my last visit to this historic and beautiful part of the country. |

“Nestled in the mountains I am thrilled when I see the article featuring Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge in the December 2006 edition of Southern Living magazine, an aspiration of every Southern innkeeper. However, I am not surprised to see that one of my “discoveries” has been scooped up by Southern Living. After all, a B&B, as delightful as this one, cannot be kept a secret for very long. It must be shared. For over two years, skilled craftsmen labored diligently to transform centuries-old pine logs, local stone, and reclaimed wood into a work of art on the exterior and interior alike. Once the structure was completed, Judy and Max Chosewood—the owners and resident innkeepers—painstakingly proceeded to add their special touches in order to pump life and vitality into their unique mountain lodge. From the moment I arrive until it is time for me to depart, I feel as if new life is also being breathed into me as I succumb to a state of complete relaxation. A fool-proof formula—warm hospitality, a tranquil setting, above-and-beyond efforts to make each guests feel special—results in making Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge a not-to-be-missed Shangri-la experience.
