"An award-winning
1856 antebellum mansion"

Surrounded by a handsome wroght iron fence, embellished with gilded fleur-de-lis, the Amelia Island Williams House beckons guests to enter her gate and come in for a spell.  It is an easy invitation to accept.
The manicured lawn, bordered by blooming plants and flowering shrubs, complements the grand old home with fitting adornment.  A brick English wagon wheel garden is located on the side of the house and provides an idyllic spot for relaxing.  A majestic 500-year-old Live Oak, encircled by colorful plants, graces the rear courtyard.
Nancy and Paul Barnes, owners and innkeepers of the Amelia Island Williams house, enjoy visiting with guests over "sunset wine" and hors d'oeuvres.  They enthusiastically share the intriguing history of their inn, including the secret passage.

Each day begins with a scrumptious two-course breakfast served in the formal dining room.   The table setting for the meal -- using family heirloom antique china, sterling silver, and crystal goblets -- is exquisite.
A stay at The Amelia Williams House affords guests an opportunity to experience Old Florida at its grandest.

"An historic village inn
high in the Blue Ridge Mountains"

The Dogwood Room

Conveniently located around the corner from a charming mountain village, The Maple Lodge Inn provides an ideal base for visiting a wide variety of area attractions along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  A visit to the inn is a delight at any time of year; however, the summer and fall months are especially good times for traveling to the area.
The hosts at Maple Lodge Inn, Dave and Lynn Robinson, know how to make guests feel special and welcome.  Knowledgeable about the area and prepared to make excursion suggestions or reservations (for dinner or special activities), the Robinsons are always willing to assist.

I especially like the Dogwood Room with its striking hunter green/burgundy décor and sunny sitting area.  The cozy library, featuring a native stone fireplace, and an inviting parlor provide relaxing common rooms for the enjoyment of guests.
Once you personally experience Maple Lodge Inn, you will want to return for future visits.

Strong Points

Hospitality plus, location, breakfast, complimentary beverages and cookies, private baths, variety of accommodations, twin sleeper sofas in suites, wildflower garden, spa services, special packages, parking, facilities for small off-site meetings.
