Inn at Weathersfield
|

|
Built
in 1792, the Inn at Weathersfield sits upon 21 wooded acres in the
southern part of Vermont. Situated in an off-the-beaten path area, the inn
provides comfortable lodging with- in a short distance of well-known area
attractions. Jane and David Sandelman are the pleasant and accommodating owners of the Inn at Weathersfield. The Sandelmans re-opened the inn, as a bed and breakfast, in October 2002. Two months later, they proceeded to re-open the inn's award-winning restaurant. Dinner at the inn, always outstanding, is recommended whether one stays at the inn or not. The dinner menu changes weekly, and the current offerings are posted on the inn's Web site to review in advance. Dinner is served in an inviting, Colonial-style room studded with an open-beam ceiling and enhanced with a handsome stone fireplace. The restaurant takes pride in its unique style of "casual luxury." -----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------- A full breakfast is served each morning in the sunroom. Once coffee or tea is served and a juice selected, a freshly baked treat is presented. Guests then have an opportunity to select an entrée of their choice—including specialties such as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and scallions, organic yogurt parfait, buttermilk pancakes, French toast, bacon, hash browns. Complimentary afternoon refreshments are available for guests later in the day. Weathersfield also has an in-house pub offering a bistro menu, beer, wine, coffee, and dessert. During the cooler months, guests may enjoy snacking or eating, next to a cozy fire, in the pub. In warmer weather, guests often prefer eating on the deck or next to the pond.
|
For game-players, a variety of games line the shelves in the pub: playing
cards, dominoes, backgammon, board and trivia games. However, with so
much beauty in the area and places to go, game-playing is usually reserved
for rainy afternoons or lazy evenings. The innkeepers are know- ledgeable
about the area and willing to help guests develop a customized itinerary
for touring sites of interest. From hiking or hang gliding in the summer
to ice skating or going on sleigh rides in the winter, entertainment
abounds in southern Ver- mont. If you are fascinated by covered bridges,
the longest one in America is just minutes away from the inn.
