“A comfortably elegant B&B" I t is a beautiful spring day when I arrive in St. Pete, and I am immediately drawn to the attractive sunshine yellow inn bedecked with flowering window boxes. The house looks as though it is basking under the warming rays of a bright Floridian sun, and I sense it wishes to share its own warmth with whomever enters.Constructed in 1910 as a private home, the house was purchased in 1999 by Jewly and Dennis Youschak. After an amazing renovation of the property, the Youschaks—the delightful owners and resident innkeepers—proudly opened Inn at the Bay to guests in March 2001. A perfect place to stay when visiting St. Petersburg, the inn is ideally located in downtown St. Petersburg within walking distance of beaches, fine restaurants, the marina, and excellent shopping. Each morning, an award-winning breakfast is served in an elegant tea room where guests enjoy a gourmet cuisine at individual tables draped with white linen cloths and adorned with fresh flowers. Unlike most B&Bs, breakfast is served at the guests’ leisure. It is always superb. |
The next time I visit the Tampa Bay area, Inn at the Bay is where I will stay. I hope it will be soon. “A full service fly-fishing lodge”
I arrive at the
cedar post and beam lodge as the sun sets, casting a soft glow over the
trout pond and snow-capped mountains in the distance. I spot whitetail deer
grazing in the open valley beyond the inn, and I feel embraced with a sense
of wonder and serenity.
