Demurely
peeking from behind a protective Magnolia, the colonnaded 19th century home
awaits her guests like a gracious Southern lady. The bright yellow exterior
seems to mirror the summer sun, and the verandah beckons me to sit for a
spell and reminisce about yesteryear. |

“First-class lodging in the heart of Kentucky's horse country" I t is springtime in The South, and I am driving through the Daniel Boone National Forest towards my next B&B destination. The road winds through scenic woodlands dotted with Redbud trees bursting with lilac-colored blooms. I wonder if I should forget going to the scheduled inn and just camp out amidst these gorgeous trees. As soon as I spot the Doolin House, enhanced by double porches and flowering baskets, I forget about the magical forest I wound through earlier. Even from afar, I sense a welcoming aura and know I am going to like this newly built inn.Allison and Charles Sobieck, the young and talented proprietors/resident innkeepers of Doolin House Gourmet B&B, are distinguished chefs with culinary degrees. The scrumptious breakfast they serve their guests each morning reflects the Sobieck’s amazing culinary skills.
