  When I first spot the colonnaded 18th century home, I know it must be The Little White House B&B.  It looks like the photograph I saw online, but I do not see any identifying sign or a house number.  It is not until later that I find out the B&B status of this property is intentionally kept somewhat "obscure" to help ensure that this special bed and breakfast inn remains one of Fredericksburg's best kept secrets - a "secret" I am glad I discovered and now want to share with other travelers.
     Housed in the historic Charles Dick House - built in 1740, the oldest house still standing in Fredericksburg, and visited by three early U.S. presidents - The Little White House Bed and Breakfast was opened as a B&B in 2006.  Many renovations have taken place since that time and are continuing to be made.
    The proprietress and resident innkeeper, Reine-Marie Wojciechowski, has natural grace and charm that immediately endears her to guests.  The amazing, gourmet breakfasts she prepares each morning endear her to guests even more!  Reine-Marie also offers delicious homemade refreshments and the best cappuccino ever!    

     Since only one party is rented to at a time, guests may be assured of the utmost privacy and specialized attention during their stay.  The inn is located in the heart of the historic district and within walking distance of points of interest and restaurants.
    Some secrets are just too good not to share - and the Little White House B&B is definitely one of them!

    Conveniently located in New York's scenic Hudson River Valley, Smythe House B&B is housed in a newly renovated three-story Victorian cottage built in 1890.  Even though the original architectural integrity of the home has been carefully preserved, modern conveniences have been added to provide guests with the ultimate comfort while visiting this warm and inviting bed and breakfast inn.
     In addition to staying in an area with a wide variety of things to see and do, guests at Smythe House B&B begin each day with an unsurpassed culinary experience.  David and Justine Smythe, the hospitable resident innkeepers, are each accomplished professional chefs.  David is a professor of culinary arts at the nearby Culinary Institute of America (CIA), and Justine has a degree from the CIA as well as one in International Hospitality.

     After a good night's rest, enhanced by sleeping upon pillow-top mattresses draped with high-quality linens, guests savor a custom-made breakfast (selected from an impressive and varied menu the night before) in the dining room or on the deck while also enjoying a peaceful mountain vista.  Breakfast is truly a highlight of staying at Smythe House B&B, and it is always as attractively presented as it is plentiful and tasty.  Not often does one have an opportunity to have their breakfast custom-prepared by a CIA chef!
